I Didn’t Tear. So Why Was I Leaking?

Ad Copy

I gave birth without a single tear. No abrasions. Nothing. I thought that meant I had protected my pelvic floor. Eight months after my second baby, I nearly peed my pants in a fitness class. Then I leaked while running. That was when I realized something most women are never told: You can do everything “right” and still develop pelvic floor problems when the muscles are being treated in isolation. Most of what I had learned treated the pelvic floor like an isolated muscle. Find it. Squeeze it. Strengthen it. But as a fitness professional, that never completely made sense to me. No muscle in the body works alone, and the pelvic floor is no exception. It works with your breathing, abdominal wall, posture, hips, and the pressure created every time you cough, lift, walk, run, or stand up. When those parts stop coordinating properly, simply squeezing harder may not solve the problem. For some women, weakness is involved. For others, the pelvic floor is already holding too much tension. And sometimes the muscles are strong enough, but they are not responding at the right moment or managing pressure properly during movement. That was the missing piece for me. I learned how the pelvic floor works as part of the core canister. A whole-body pressure system rather than one isolated muscle. I applied those principles to my own body. My stress incontinence resolved quite quickly, and I have never dealt with it again. That result changed the direction of my work. Because I realized how many women were being given the same generic answer no matter what their bodies were actually doing. Leak when you sneeze? Do Kegels. Feel urgency? Do Kegels. Notice pressure or heaviness? Do more Kegels. But the same exercise cannot be the right starting point for every symptom and every body. You first need to understand whether your pelvic floor needs to release, coordinate better, rebuild strength, or manage pressure differently during movement. That’s the approach I built into Buff Muff Ignite. It starts with the Muff Score Assessment, which helps identify what your body may need. Then My Ignition Plan gives you a personalized 14-day path to follow. Instead of handing you a huge library of exercises, it gives you one clear step each day so you know exactly what to do next. You also have weekly group coaching where you can ask questions, 1-on-1 SMS support when something feels off, and personal check-ins if you start falling behind. Because knowing what to do is only useful if you can actually begin, stay with it, and see enough progress to believe change is possible. If you, or one of your loved ones, is still leaking, planning around bathrooms, feeling pelvic pressure, or avoiding movement because you are afraid of making things worse… please learn how the pelvic floor actually works before spending another month doing more of the same exercises. Buff Muff Ignite helps you understand what your body needs, gives you a personalized place to begin, and supports you as you follow through. I left the link below. https://ignite.buffmuff.com/
