Fighting along Yemen’s western coast is forcing thousands of families to flee their homes, in a country where hunger was already worsening.   More than 18 million people across Yemen face acute food insecurity. Now, an estimated 125,000 more people have been displaced in a matter of days, leaving many without reliable access to food, clean water and basic services.   WFP has already delivered emergency food assistance to 45,000 people and is preparing to scale up support if the crisis deepens. At the same time, clashes have disrupted humanitarian operations, affected WFP offices and facilities, and left dozens of food distribution points inaccessible.   Families are also crossing into Djibouti in search of safety. WFP is supporting the response with food, drinking water, logistics services and expanded storage capacity to help ensure assistance reaches those who need it most.   Humanitarian access and the safety of aid workers must be protected. Without safe access and timely support, vulnerable families risk being cut off from life-saving assistance.
