My Husband Thought I Was Cheating…

My Husband Thought I Was Cheating…

Apparently telling the internet about my discharge problems opened up a whole can of worms… So let me try and clear some things up! First… No, my husband is NOT asking me for a divorce. No, he never told me I smelled. And no, this isn’t some story about my marriage falling apart because my underwear was damp. Here’s what actually happened… And how one simple “underwear hack” ended the damp, sticky feeling I thought I just had to live with! “Why do you change your underwear before dinner every night?” That was the question my husband asked me one night. I froze. “What are you talking about?” “You do it almost every day.” “I just like feeling fresh.” He looked at me for a second. “Okay… but is something going on?” “No. I’m fine.” I wasn’t exactly lying… But I definitely wasn’t telling him the truth either. Because the truth was… By 2 or 3 every afternoon, my underwear almost always felt damp. Not soaking wet. Just damp enough that I could feel it against my skin. If you’re over 40, you might know that damp feeling all too well… Your underwear starts sticking to you. You feel it every time you sit down or move. And suddenly all you can think about is getting into a clean pair. But the part was I had NO IDEA what was going on down there… Was it discharge? Sweat? Was it spotting? Did I pee myself without realizing it? Honestly, who even knows… And once I stopped being able to tell what was causing the dampness, my brain went straight to the one thing I was most embarrassed to think about: The smell. Could other people smell it? Could my husband? Had he noticed something and just wasn’t saying anything? That question started driving me CRAZY. Every time I went to the bathroom, I’d check. Every time I felt that dampness again, I’d immediately wonder if there was an odor with it. And when my husband asked why I kept changing my underwear before dinner… My first thought wasn’t: “He noticed I’m changing.” It was: “Oh God… did he notice WHY?” A few nights later he asked me again. “Are you sure everything’s okay?” “Yes.” “You’ve just been acting weird about this lately.” “What do you mean, weird?” “You disappear upstairs every afternoon, change, then come back down. I’m just asking.” That somehow made it worse. Because he still hadn’t said anything about a smell. But now I knew he was paying attention. So I started wondering if maybe he was just being polite. Maybe he HAD noticed. Maybe other people had too. And maybe I was the only person who didn’t realize it. That’s the part that really got into my head. I wasn’t just uncomfortable anymore. I was self-conscious. I started changing my underwear before leaving the house. I kept spare undies with me at all times. And I got desperate enough to try just about anything… Deodorant covered the smell, but wore off quickly. Powders helped for a while, but then I started dealing with skin irritation and worried I was making things worse. And pantyliners technically kept my underwear dry… But was sitting around in a warm, soggy liner all afternoon really any better? And then my husband asked me a question that broke my heart. “Is there… someone else?” I actually laughed at first. “WHAT?” “You keep disappearing to change before dinner. You’ve been acting weird for months. I don’t know what I’m supposed to think.” That’s when it hit me how far this had gone. I spent months terrified that HE had noticed something embarrassing about me… While he had spent those same months wondering if I was changing my underwear for another man. So for the first time, I finally told him what was really going on. “I’m not changing for someone else.” “Then what is it?” I hesitated because saying it out loud somehow felt worse. “My underwear keeps getting damp.” He just looked at me. “Damp?” “Yes. And I don’t know why.” So I told him everything. The discharge. The sweating. The occasional spotting. Those random little leaks when I sneezed or laughed. And how half the time I couldn’t even tell which one had happened. Then I finally admitted the part that had been eating at me for months. “I keep worrying that I smell.” His face completely changed. “You don’t smell.” “You’re my husband. You HAVE to say that.” “No, I really don’t.” Then he asked: “Is that why you’ve been changing your underwear every afternoon?” I nodded. For months I’d been terrified he had noticed the same thing I was noticing… Meanwhile he had absolutely no idea what was happening. And weirdly, just admitting it made me feel a little better. Until he asked the most obvious question in the world: “Isn’t there underwear made for this?” I laughed. “For what? Sweat? Discharge? Spotting? Pee?” “All of it.” I honestly didn’t know. So we started looking. And most of what came up wasn’t what I wanted. Period underwear. Bulky leakproof panties. Products that looked like they were made for much heavier bladder leaks. I didn’t want to feel like I was wearing protection all day. I just wanted normal underwear that didn’t end up feeling wet by lunch. Then we came across Everdries. At first, I almost scrolled right past them. Because they looked TOO normal. Soft cotton. Normal cuts. No giant padding. No plasticky-looking material. Nothing that screamed “special underwear.” But apparently they had this thin, breathable liner built right inside that was designed to pull moisture away from your skin. Discharge. Sweat. Spotting. Even little leaks. I looked at my husband and said: “There is no way those can do all of that.” He shrugged. “Only one way to find out.” I still wasn’t convinced. Because after deodorant, powders, liners and constantly changing underwear… The idea that the answer was simply BETTER underwear felt almost too easy. But I was tired of thinking about this every single day. So I decided to give them a try… And that decision changed EVERYTHING!!! The first thing I noticed was how NORMAL they felt. They’re made from soft, breathable cotton, so they feel just like the everyday underwear I was already used to wearing. But that thin liner inside made all the difference. Instead of sitting in that damp, sticky feeling all afternoon… I actually felt fresh and comfortable. No changing before dinner. No constantly checking myself in the bathroom. And most importantly… I stopped wondering every few hours if I smelled. Whether it was discharge, sweat, spotting or even a little leak… I could finally just get dressed in the morning and stop thinking about what was happening down there. That alone has been such a relief. And apparently my husband noticed too. A few weeks later he looked at me during dinner and said: “You don’t disappear upstairs anymore.” I smiled. “Nope.” Everdries didn’t stop my body from changing. They just made those changes a whole lot easier to live with. Anyway… sorry this turned into such a long post 😂 I just know how embarrassing and frustrating this was for me, and if even one other woman reads this and realizes she’s not the only one dealing with it, then I’m glad I shared it. I really do recommend Everdries. They’ve made such a difference in how comfortable and confident I feel day to day, and I honestly wish I had tried them sooner. I actually just ordered a few more pairs because they’re 50% OFF right now… So if you’ve been dealing with the same damp, sticky underwear situation I was, this might be a good time to try them.
