Our Nanit Lab's newest challenge - climate change?!ā ā In a study led by Dr. Monica Ordway (our resident sleep and parenting expert from Yale!), Nanit was used to measure the impact recent heat waves had on babies' sleep.ā What we learned:ā ā š„Babies slept 22 minutes less on average during nights with hotter tempsā š„They woke up 24% more oftenā š„Parents visited the crib 27% more oftenā ā What this means for parents today: Keeping baby's room consistently between 70-72 degrees will help them achieve the best quality sleep. Pro tip - use the temperature and humidity function on the Nanit app to keep an eye on room temps.ā ā What this means for parents tomorrow: As climate change continues to impact our seasonal temperatures, it may become more of a challenge to manage room temps in certain climates globally.
